Vindelis 7873: About Us
Vindelis 7873 is a Freemasons' Lodge located on Portland, Dorset. We first formed in 1963, having a diverse and active membership from all walks of life, from their 20’s to 90’s. We meet as a lodge on the 2nd Thursday of the month (9 months a year), and usually have 4 social events where family and friends join us.
We wish everyone to feel welcome and involved, holding to the Freemasons Values of Integrity, Friendship, Respect & Service.
Portland is rich in Freemasonry, with several other Lodges meeting in the same building on alternative evenings; Portland 1037, Chesil 8149, Loyal Manor 6445, Quintus 8118, Trinity 8025, United Service 3473.

Our Lodge
United Grand Lodge of England…
…is mentioned often. This is viewed as the beginnings of modern day Freemasonry, back in 1717, when the Premier Grand Lodge (the predecessor to UGLE) was founded at the Goose and Gridiron Pub in London.
UGLE provides government and ensures consistency to the lodges and members. It’s headquarters are in the beautiful Grade II listed Art Deco building of Freemasons Hall, in Great Queen Street, Covent Garden.
The organisation is in an exciting time of revitalising Freemasonry and ensuring it remains current, meeting the needs of it’s membership.
